My Philosophy as a Doula

As a former early childhood educator trained in the Montessori philosophy, I learned the importance of "following the child." That same principle now guides my work as a doula: I "follow the family." Every family is unique, and every birth unfolds in its own way. My role is to support your journey, honoring your birth preferences while providing balanced, evidence-based information should the birth experience shift in unexpected ways.

I see myself as a calm, grounded presence who helps you and your partner remain empowered and informed. I am not adversarial—creating tension in a birth space serves no one—but I am assertive and committed to ensuring your voice is heard. If I sense that you're not being listened to, I will speak up, respectfully but clearly.

Having worked in this field for nearly 20 years and supported over 1,000 families, I bring both deep experience and strong relationships with local hospitals, nurses, birth centers, and providers. I understand the culture of your birth environment and act as a bridge when communication between you and the staff needs support.

For comfort measures, not only am I a certified HypnoBirthing practitioner, I am trained in Spinning Babies techniques, certified in aromatherapy and reflexology, and passionate about creating a calm, centered space for birth. Ultimately, beyond the skills and certifications, I offer intuition—honed from years of doing this sacred work—helps me read a room, read a labor, and respond with care, confidence, and compassion.
